About Garusha, the "Jewel of the Sea

Garusha (stingray) has long been known as the "Jewel of the Sea" and is highly prized as a luxury leather material. The leather is extremely hard and lustrous, and is characterized by fine protuberances that appear to be covered with glass beads. The main ingredient is calcium phosphate, which is the same as human teeth, so the more it is polished, the shinier it becomes. In addition, there is a sharp protrusion in the center of the ray's back called the "third eye" or "star mark" (in the sword world, it is called the "parent grain"). There is only one star mark per ray, and it is popular to make this part stand out when processing the ray into products.
