At the Yushinkan iaido dojo in Kyobashi, Osaka, you can experience the Yushinkan school, which combines ancient martial arts with unique techniques.

The experience begins with a change of clothes into authentic dojo clothes and armour for practice.
The instructor will carefully assist you in dressing, so even beginners can feel at ease.
As you put on the robe, feeling the weight of each gesture, your back naturally straightens and your mind tightens.
The reflection in the mirror is a true modern-day ‘samurai’.
Skill of a Samurai — Live Sword Demonstration

During the experience, you’ll witness a real Japanese sword cutting demonstration, known as Wara-giri, performed by a high-ranking master.
With calm precision, the master takes a stance, slowly draws the katana, aligns his breath and posture…

Then—without force, in one smooth motion—the sword slices clean through the straw target in an instant.
This is not something you can feel through photos or videos.
Experience the awe of an authentic samurai technique, live and up close.

■Tours to experience the Shogun and Samurai! You can experience martial arts in the castle town of Osaka, from swordsmanship to etiquette to sword handling.

After the experience, you will receive a certificate of completion. Includes rental of a dojo-gi and swords.
